Tom Chapman, Iowa Catholic Conference, was Bill and Rich's first guest of the day. Tom talked about the Iowa Catholic Conference's stance on the new health care bill. The Iowa Catholic Conference believes that there needs to be some sort of health care reform, but not as long as there is a chance that abortion could become more available. The Iowa Catholic Conference is trying to get the message out that the Bishop's wanted to get spread. Tom said that the most effective way for someone to make a difference to their representatives was to visit call or email.

Bob Vander Plaats, author of Light from Lucas, was the second guest of the day. Bob was on the phone while vacationing with his wife and 4 boys. He told the story of his son Lucas and the struggles and life changing events he had in his life. When Lucas was born he was put on a helicopter to be airlifted to a bigger hospital. The doctor told him that babies with issues don't belong in rural hospitals. Lucas wasn't supposed to live longer than a few weeks but he is now 16 years old. Bob commented on the new health care bill and that abortion was never an option for him and his wife. He said that Lucas was a blessing to the family.
