Jeanne Shupe was our featured local guest with her Recipe of the month for August. Her recipe today was for Poutine. To make Poutine, French fries are sprinkled with cheese curds, and topped with Chicken gravy, and dashed with salt and pepper.
An alternative version, Jeanne's "Breakfast Poutine," substitues hash browns for the fries, and sausage gravy for chicken gravy.

Bob Rice, Associate Professor of Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and a featured speaker at this year's KWKY Fatih Matters Conference came on the show to promote the conference. He will be emceeing the event, will be giving a keynote speech and main talks, and will be performing some of the music. Bob will be talking about why the Catholic Faith is so important in our lives, and the Faith Matter Conference is a great way to refresh and renew yourself in the Catholic Faith. The Faith Matters Conference is this weekend, August 28 and 29th at the Polk County Convention Center in downtown Des Moines. Tickets are still available by going to kwky. com or by calling the station at 515-223-1150.
