Jeanne Wells with the Catholic Tuition Organization joined Bill and Rich for their first interview. The Catholic Tuition Organization of Des Moines has been around since 2006 when the 65% tax credit for individuals who donate to scholarships for tuition for private or home school families, was enacted. Now with the new availability for the tax credit to be awarded to corporations who donate, it becomes easier to donate to this great organization.

Jeanne explained that with the 11,000 students that they helped with scholarships for their schools it's better for the state to help with tax credits for those who donate than it is for them to fund each student to be in public school. Each student in public school costs $5,000 in state money. By aiding those who donate to the tuition organization with a Federal tax credit, they save paying $5 million dollars for these students to attend public school. Instead they're spending under a million for the tax credit.

Monica explained how the idea for the fashion show occurred to her while she was out for a run. She thought it would be a good idea to create a fashion show to benefit an organization. When brainstorming for organizations she thought about doing something that focused on children or women. When the idea began forming and moving forward she then wanted to work with an outreach to women with an adoption focus.

Wanting somethign local she found Ruth Harbor and a great fit for her fashion show. For the Fashion Show she will be using styles from Vitae Design Collective which feature a 1940's pin-up motif with a new twist. They'll be focusing on the feminite skirts and blouse designs as well as using music that was trademarked in that era and then brought a new twist by contemporary performers. The title of the show reflects both the clothing designs of bringing old clothes new life as well as the mission of Ruth Harbor, to help each of the women they work with discover life with their infant.
